Miniature Golden Retriever Puppies

Daisy's turn to have puppies. They were born on Sept. 9/14....seven puppies, 3 males and 4 females.
Although Daisy is a Mini Goldendoodle, she got more of the Golden Retriever traits than poodle. Breeding her with a Ruby Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, (Harley, on the side bar) has produced some very pretty puppies that are like a miniature Golden Retriever..about 20-30 lbs full grown. They will be very affectionate, people loving dogs, with a much lower energy level than a retriever, or most doodles.
Edited to add: Some of Daisy's pups got much larger than we expected...up to 45 lbs! Apparently, the Golden retriever gene is a powerful one!
You can see them grow up on our Pinterest board. Miniature Golden Retrievers

Golden Cavadoodle Puppies

Golden Cavadoodles are a cross between a goldendoodle female, and a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel sire. They are bred for specific traits.
  • They are a smaller, compact, yet sturdy dog that makes a great family pet.
  • They are highly intelligent, and easy to train.
  • They are cuddly, and affectionate, and love people.
  • They are playful, but have a lower energy level, and easily adapt to your lifestyle.
  • They are gorgeous! They have a sweet face, and a beautiful coat, ranging from fluffy, to silky smooth, with feathering on their long ears, feet, legs, and tail.

Wednesday, August 6, Bitsy gave birth to her puppies. Two red boys, like their dad, Harley, and one black girl like mom. Bitsy is an 14 lb F1b mini goldendoodle...her mother is a 30 lb mini goldendoodle, and her father an 18 lb poodle. Harley is an 20 lb Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.

Cute Dog Posters

This is such a cute picture of Bitsy! She is our F1b Mini Goldendoodle. The runt of the litter, she weighs about 14.5 lbs, and is about 14 inches high at the shoulder....and she's perfect!

 I couldn't resist making a caption for this picture of Harley. The rawhide twist he's chewing looks so much like a cigar...and yes, he is the father of five sweet little boys!

~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm sure this is where Danica would sleep all the time if we allowed her to...and the puppies would be glad to share their bed. These are Avalie's  puppies....five ruby boys, just like their dad.
Puppy Pens and Kennels
This first picture is the whelping pen we built for Daisy's puppies. The guard rail, made from pvc pipe, was to keep the puppies from getting squashed against the wall by Daisy.
At about four weeks, we expanded the pen to give the puppies more room to play and to start on solid food.
When Daisy's eleven puppies started to outgrow their pen in the house, we built a bigger one in the room at the back of our garage. The outdoor kennel was right out the back door.
This pen was built for potty training Avalie, Harley, and Bitsy. We had easy access out the garden door for outdoor training....we just had to step over the short wall of the pen!
This portable fence has been great for closing off an area for the puppies to play. We've used it in both our front and back entrances.
Daisy- Mini Goldendoodle
Daisy is our Mini Goldendoodle. She was born April 29, 2011, and came home in July, 2011. She has been an awesome dog right from the start...easy to train, friendly to everyone, and great with our kids.
No one can sneak into our house...Daisy hears their footsteps on the deck and lets us know! Once they're in the door, Daisy runs to great them. Everyone who meets Daisy loves her. All you have to do is pat your chest, and Daisy will jump up for a hug or maybe a little dance.
Daisy would love to get in the kennel with Avalie's puppies. We decided she is saying,"I'll hug them and kiss them and call them all George!"
*Daisy now lives with our grandkids. They wanted a puppy, but mom works, and didn't have time for proper training. Since Daisy loves them all, we decided to let her go there....just a mile from us.
